Dainik Prantojyoti the first Bengali Daily of Northeast India published from Silchar. Dainik Prantajyoti, the oldest news daily of the north east India flagged off its journey as a fortnightly on 12th January, 1957 in the name style ‘Jyoti’. After few issues Jyoti became weekly.
